Where is a good place to buy Windows Xp Software?

Okay, so someone recently reformatted my computer and then messed everything up because they were mad at me. So I guess I have to go buy the software again and just reformat. Where’s a good place to buy it so I don’t get ripped off or anything like that? Also, what would be a good price for it?

And I don’t have to back up my drivers, right? Because the new software will already come with it? Argh.. I fail at computers but I have to fix this..!! Please help!

  1. wal mart bestbuy or amazon.com

  2. Depends on which version you want. I know that http://www.tigerdirect.com has xp home for 95 bucks, which in my opinion is too much for xp but it’s actually the most reasonable price you’re going to find it it at. You can thank microsoft for that. They made vista cheaper so they could convince people to buy it over xp.

Concerning the drivers: Once you load xp most of your driver issues will be taken care of. Things like your graphics card and wireless cards, etc. can be updated from their respective company websites or through the device manager.

If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email.

I would go with Amazon.com, it has a 100% buyer payment protection.

Be careful with auction sites like eBay since many sellers never ship the item you ordered, and eBay would only reimburse you a portion of your money. So you lose out big time. I was burned once by eBay, I will never buy anything from eBay again. I also know quite a few friends who were cheated by eBay sellers too.

About the price, you should get it for about $100 if you buy the System Builder version.
About the drivers, you need to back them up unless your computer is older than 7 years old, in which XP may already have all the drivers inside.
